- Silvia was originally conceived as a new character for the third season - Silvia Montgomery - who would host a dinner party in the season premiere that would result in the death of several characters. Her role was only then expanded, being introduced in the second season as Joe's biological mother.
- There was initial debate over whether Silvia (MissMayfair) or Kathryn Kappelletti (Little Miss Van de Tramp) would be promoted to the main cast for the third season. Ultimately, the writers went with Silvia.
